Alan Turnbull is a practising artist who has lectured in painting and printmaking at Newcastle University and numerous art schools.

He grew up in a mining village in Co. Durham in north-east England and now lives and works in the Yorkshire Dales.

He has exhibited widely in the UK, Europe, Russia and USA.
